Calgary Arts Development recently tipped us off about an event they are organising here in Edmonton on Saturday October 22nd:

Professional artists and arts organizations in the Edmonton area are invited to a free Resource Material and Documentation Workshop.

The documentation and resource material workshop is a basic review of options available for the documentation, archiving, and preparation of support materials by artists and arts organizations.

The one-day workshop will be hosted by Ramin Eshraghi-Yazdi (Nur Films), and will review: the importance of documentation and archiving strategies for documentation, archiving, and support material preparation technical approaches to documentation, archiving, and support material preparation

The workshops are meant to build capacity within the Alberta arts community to provide better support materials, increase resources and contribute to the ongoing evolution of creative practice within the province through the archiving of documented works. The workshops, though technically minded will be geared towards the non-technical users.
